“On a par with the premium competition” – this is what makes the Corvette Stingray C8 by the American car manufacturer Chevrolet. The model was launched in 2020. But something has changed with the market launch of the latest car generation: The new Corvette C8 debuts with a mid-engine layout located right behind the driver. This causes an improved weight distribution, optimized driving dynamics, and a more stable cornering behavior. Another feature is the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). It enables clean and precise gear shifts. The mid-engine sports car is available as a convertible or coupe.
The supercar comes with a 6.2-liter V8 engine. By default, the model reaches 482 HP (354 kW). In the USA, the performance optimized “Z51 Performance Package” costs extra. In the European Chevrolet Corvette C8, it is included as standard. This includes a sports suspension, Brembo brakes, and a sports exhaust system.
We offer an upgrade for the driving dynamics of the latest Chevrolet Corvette. Our KW V5 coilover kit is the perfect choice for improving the ride of your car. In the scope of delivery, a continuous lowering of up to 25 millimeters is possible. The retrofittable suspension in the Corvette ensures excellent road holding with high ride comfort. We adapted our successful Solid Piston technology from GT3 motorsports to the KW V5. This generates different damping characteristics than with an overflowed piston in the damper.
The Solid Piston technology results in better support of the bodywork of the car. This allows using coilover springs with lower spring rates. This ensures sufficient driving comfort and ideal driving dynamics.
In contrast to conventional coilovers, the KW V5 coilovers dampen more sensitively. Highspeed and lowspeed compression are adjustable even after installation. When the rebound valve is opened, the driving comfort increases. If it is closed, the pitching and rolling movements of the car are reduced. Compression influences the deflection of the coilover kit and supports the chassis.
Those of you that like to keep the original dampers can choose our KW height-adjustable springs. Our springs are already perfectly adapted to the Corvette C8 Stingray. They come with the opportunity to individually lower your car.
In contrast to its successors, the Corvette C8 Stingray with its mid-engine is a completely new car. But it's not just the manufacturer Chevrolet that has departed from its Corvette model roots for the new C8. We, too, have abandoned everyday design principles for the KW V5. We also use solid piston technology for active and semi-active damping systems.
