According to Porsche's 2021 sales reports, the all-electric Porsche Taycan was the third most popular Porsche model. More Porsche Taycans were sold worldwide than Porsche 911s. Now, the KW V4 Coilover suspension has been released for the four-door "electric sports sedan". Currently, it is only available for the Porsche Taycan models with a system output of 300 kW (408 hp) with part approval.
The coilover suspension kit allows seamless ride height adjustments on both axles. The part certificate offers a lowering range of 5 to 30 millimeters on the front axle, and a seamless lowering of 5 to 35 millimeters on the rear axle. The KW V4 Coilover kit for the Porsche Taycan has the option to adjust the damper forces individually in the high-speed and low-speed forces of the compression stage and the low-speed rebound stage.
These damping controls make it easy to adjust the preset setup to be sportier or more comfort-oriented. The two compression dials allow the steering response and other parameters like rolling comfort and tire grip to be tailored to the individual preference. The low-speed compression stage has six clicks (seven damping profiles) of adjustment and for the high-speed compression stage there is an adjustment range of 15 clicks (16 damping profiles). With just a few clicks, the driving dynamics or ride comfort can be improved on the Porsche Taycan.
When developing the KW Coilover suspension for the Taycan, the focus was on driving pleasure and improvement in driving and lateral dynamics. In addition, the KW shock absorbers with their adjustable multi-valve technology increase the overall ride comfort despite maximum lowering. Even at high speeds, the KW V4 provides a significant increase in cornering stability and the body roll tendency of the Taycan is reduced. Our customers and dealers specialized in electric vehicles also report that installing a KW Coilover suspension even increases the range. For example, the Tesla Model 3 improved by seven percent.
