G20 Coilovers: Rewrite Your 3 Series BMW
Since its market launch in 2019, the seventh generation of BMW's best-selling model of all time has set new standards in the mid-size segment. This vehicle offers exceptional handling on both motorways and winding country roads. The reason is its body, which is up to 50% stiffer; perfect 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear axles; and a weight reduction of around 55 kilograms compared to the predecessor (F30 model). This applies to the entire model range, from the efficient plug-in hybrid to the 374-horsepower straight-six. Anyone who has sat behind the wheel of the G20 and experienced how the travel-dependent dampers gently absorb small bumps while providing progressive grip during fast corners knows that its dynamic driving potential is waiting to be unleashed. Our KW suspension products were developed for drivers who want more than comes standard from the factory.
The factory suspension
BMW has done an excellent job with the G20’s driving dynamics. Yet the G20’s adaptive standard suspension system is particularly divisive: when driven in Sport mode, it becomes so stiff that it reaches its limits on uneven surfaces. Even in Comfort mode, many drivers find the tuning too firm for everyday use. The result: You never feel like you’ve found just the right balance. On top of that, the standard suspension isn’t customizable in terms of ride height or damper characteristics.
KW V1
The KW V1 is the ideal G20 suspension upgrade for drivers who want to take their 3 Series to the next level, both visually and dynamically. KW suspensions are factory-tuned to be vehicle-specific and offer a sporty yet harmonious ride. The stainless steel spring housing (INOX LINE) ensures a long service life, while the composite spring plate guarantees precise spring seating. A customisable drop of between 40 and 60 mm makes the G20 an even better car, both visually and in terms of driving dynamics. Parts certificate included.

The technical features of our BMW 3 Series G20 coilover kits in detail
Customized lowering
This coilover suspension offers maximum possible lowering, customized to your vehicle model. You can also change this at any time after installation.
INOX LINE: High-quality stainless steel casing
The struts of KW coilover suspensions are made of high-quality stainless steel, making them rustproof. This long-lasting corrosion resistance is known as the INOX Line.
Composite spring disc
The height-adjustable KW spring plate is made from a resistant and friction-optimised polyamide composite material with a stainless steel insert. In contrast to anodised aluminium adjustable spring plates, the polyamide composite material prevents possible oxidation.
Trapezoidal thread
Thanks to our friction-optimized trapezoidal thread, you can easily adjust the vehicle lowering to your liking. Due to the protection-resistant thread, you can still adjust the lowering with millimeter precision even years after installation.

Your questions, our answers!
Which KW coilover suspension is recommended for my BMW G20?
That depends on your driving style and your vehicle's powertrain. For everyday drivers and those seeking comfort with no tuning experience, the KW V1 is ideal. It delivers an immediately sporty yet harmonious setup without any adjustment effort. Those seeking more control should choose the KW V2 (adjustable rebound) or the V3 (separately adjustable compression and rebound). For the G20 with adaptive stock dampers, the DDC Plug & Play is recommended. Track day enthusiasts should opt for the V3 Clubsport or V4 Clubsport.
How much does it cost to install a BMW 3 Series coilover suspension?
Installation costs vary depending on the region and the shop. We generally recommend having the suspension installed by one of our qualified retail partners, who can also properly adjust the settings after installation. The installation itself usually takes between two and four hours. After replacing the suspension, it is essential to have a wheel alignment performed to ensure you get the most out of your KW coilover suspension and minimize tire wear.
How low can I lower my BMW G20 with KW suspensions?
With the KW V1, V2, V3, DDC Plug & Play, and V3 Clubsport coilover kits, you can lower the vehicle by between 40 and 60 mm on both the front and rear axles. The KW V3 Leveling offers more flexible height adjustment between -10 and -30 mm. Ideal for drivers who want to adjust the vehicle’s height depending on the situation without sacrificing the full lowering.
Can I also install the KW suspension in my G20 with xDrive?
Yes. KW Suspensions offers coilover kits suitable for virtually all G20 variants, including xDrive all-wheel-drive models. For rear-wheel-drive models with and without electronic damper control, the V1, V2, V3, DDC, and V3 Leveling are available. All-wheel-drive models can also opt for the KW V4 Clubsport. Plug-in hybrid variants are also supported; here, the KW V3 is the recommended choice.
