Ever since Toyota elevated the Supra (originally a derivative of the Celica) to a standalone model in 1986, the Japanese car has become an indispensable part of the sports car world. The A80, built from 1993 to 2002, made automotive history with its 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine and 326 horsepower: Fast & Furious and Need for Speed turned the MkIV into a global icon and a coveted tuning car. The fifth generation, the GR Supra (A90), opens a new chapter in 2019: As the first model from the Toyota Gazoo Racing Division, it combines racing DNA with everyday practicality. It comes with 340 hp, a turbocharged inline-six, and rear-wheel drive. A perfect 50:50 weight distribution and a factory-set low center of gravity make it a thoroughbred sports car for both the road and the racetrack. Factory Suspension
Toyota achieved a remarkably balanced suspension setup as early as the 1990s A80 Supra. And the GR Supra (from 2019) also impresses right out of the factory with agile, very direct steering response and sensitive feedback. Models with adaptive dampers offer two damping modes (Normal and Sport), providing greater customization of the driving experience. Even though the vehicle hardly understeers, the GR Supra tends to have a slightly twitchy rear end during sudden load changes. INOX LINE: High-quality stainless steel casing
The struts of KW coilover suspensions are made of high-quality stainless steel, making them rustproof. This long-lasting corrosion resistance is known as the INOX Line.
Composite spring disc
The height-adjustable KW spring plate is made from a resistant and friction-optimised polyamide composite material with a stainless steel insert. In contrast to anodised aluminium adjustable spring plates, the polyamide composite material prevents possible oxidation.
Trapezoidal thread
Thanks to our friction-optimized trapezoidal thread, you can easily adjust the vehicle lowering to your liking. Due to the protection-resistant thread, you can still adjust the lowering with millimeter precision even years after installation.

Will I lose the electronic damper control on my GR Supra if I install a coilover suspension?
It depends. If you choose the KW DDC Plug&Play suspension, all control functions remain intact. This system was developed specifically for vehicles with adaptive factory suspension and communicates with the GR Supra’s factory onboard electronics. All driving modes remain available. If you choose a KW V1 or V3, you must deactivate your adaptive stock suspension using the KW cancellation kit included in the delivery. This is easy to do and can be reversed at any time.
Why does Toyota rely on KW for the GR Supra Final Edition?
Toyota has chosen KW suspensions as the standard suspension supplier for the exclusive GR Supra "Final Edition" special model, thereby making a clear statement about its commitment to quality and expertise in driving dynamics. Are KW Clubsport suspensions suitable for track days with sport tires?
Yes, that’s exactly what it was designed for. The KW V3 and V4 Clubsport setup was specifically engineered to meet the demands of the Nordschleife and for use with sports tires. The high-performance dampers allow for customized setups tailored to different tracks, vehicle weights, and tire characteristics. At the same time, the Clubsport suspensions remain street-legal.
Which KW suspension is right for my Toyota GR Supra?
It depends on how you use your Supra. For sporty yet comfortable everyday driving with maximum lowering and a firm suspension setup optimized by us, the KW V1 is the ideal choice. If you want to fine-tune the setup yourself, go for the KW V3. If you have a Toyota GR Supra with electronic suspension control, the KW DDC plug&play is a great option. For track day enthusiasts, we recommend the KW V3 Clubsport or the KW V4 Clubsport.
