Much more than a monotube damper - the KW single tube dampers

Our KW Single Tube dampers differ significantly from the monotube dampers known in original equipment and on the spare parts market. We mainly use KW Single Tube dampers for selected KW Coilover suspensions in the Track Performance delivery programme.

Your advantages

With the KW Single Tube dampers, we have combined the advantages of monotube and twin-tube dampers and consistently rely on our innovative multi-valve technology. Depending on the design, the KW Single Tube dampers are variably adjustable in compression and rebound forces or have a fixed characteristic. They impress with their fast damping response, can be installed in any position depending on the design and, with MacPherson axle geometries, we manufacture KW Single Tube dampers exclusively as upside-down shock absorbers.

Convincingly versatile and proven - the KW twin-tube dampers

Even with the very first KW coilover suspensions, we relied on the proven twin-tube damping principle in original equipment and have continuously developed it further. Our KW twin-tube dampers form the basis of a large number of innovative coilover suspensions - from comfort suspensions to coilovers for maximum lowering.

Your advantages

The tried-and-tested twin-tube dampers have been maintenance-free and reliable for years. We are completely flexible when it comes to damper design, so that every car - including your vehicle - gets a driving behaviour with our KW twin-tube dampers that guarantees the optimum balance of driving dynamics, driving comfort and driving safety. The focus is always on making the suspension set-up as firm as necessary and as comfortable as possible. Depending on the version, our KW twin-tube dampers offer either vehicle-specific, fixed tuning (KW V1) or adjustable valve technology. This allows you to adjust only the rebound damping (KW V2) or the compression and rebound damping separately (KW V3). We also use KW twin-tube dampers in our ride comfort orientated applications KW V2 Comfort and KW V3 Leveling.

3-TUBE

Open to technology for maximum driving pleasure - the KW three-tube dampers

Our KW three-tube dampers provide more leeway for the perfect driving experience. They are available in different technology levels and are even used in our innovative solid piston applications. For example, we can equip the KW three-tube dampers with semi-active electronically adjustable proportional valves or we can use them in our triple, quadruple and quintuple individually tunable Coilover suspensions from our Street Performance and Track Performance programme.

Your advantages

Our KW triple-tube dampers are a further development of the well-known KW twin-tube dampers. We use the KW three-tube dampers in numerous high-performance applications, as they simply offer you many more options for perfect driving behaviour. Depending on the application, our highly efficient three-tube dampers have an internal reservoir or reservoirs that are permanently attached to the damper or connected via a hose. But our KW triple-tube dampers are also completely technology-neutral. We either equip the dampers with electronically adjustable valves (DDC) or we use them for double (V3 Clubsport, V3 Racing), triple (V4, V4 Clubsport, V4 Racing), quadruple (V5, V5 Clubsport, V5 Racing) or quintuple (V6 Racing) tunable KW coilover suspensions.

DISPLACER PISTON TECHNOLOGY

The principle of dampers and suspension completely rethought - the KW Solid Piston dampers

With the Solid Piston dampers, we are taking driving dynamics and ride comfort to a completely new technological level. These dampers offer numerous advantages and can be set up with different valve technologies. Thanks to their design principle, they can also work with much greater forces, allowing us to massively perfect the driving behaviour in all desired respects - nobody is closer to the perfect suspension.

KW upside-down dampers with displacement piston technology

Upside down design
Mainly used in the track performance area
Perfected for high lateral guidance forces on trackdays or races

Your advantages

The Solid Piston dampers are an innovative further development of our damper technology. In contrast to other suspension dampers, our solid piston dampers work according to the principle of volume displacement. This means that the damper oil is displaced. The Solid Piston dampers are designed as either twin-tube or triple-tube dampers. Depending on the general design of the Solid Piston damper, we can achieve significantly higher damping forces or reduce the system pressure with the same force. At the same time, the solid piston dampers allow for instantaneous response behaviour. This is the case even with the shortest damper strokes (spring travel). We use Solid Piston technology in various KW Racing applications, KW Clubsport suspensions and semi-actively controlled KW DDC Coilover suspensions. Depending on the suspension system, the Solid Piston dampers have two, four and five manually adjustable valves or two electronically adjustable proportional valves are used.

FAQ

How do different damper technologies differ in the suspension?

KW suspensions uses different damper technologies depending on the intended use. KW suspensions monotube technology offers a constant damping force and high thermal stability with a sporty driving style. The twin-tube dampers stand for sporty and firm driving with sufficient residual comfort. Our three-tube dampers extend the system with additional oil reserves and finer control of the adjustment options (e.g. for electronically controlled suspensions). Our highly innovative displacement piston dampers enable maximum precision and extremely fast response behaviour.
