KW V5 in the Ferrari F12: Total command over 740 horsepower
It is one of the last true supercars with absolutely no compromises: the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Built between 2012 and 2016, it features a 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine under its long hood, delivering 740 horsepower to the road and propelling the F12 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds. With a curb weight of just 1,630 kilograms and a weight distribution of 46 to 54 percent between the front and rear axles, the F12 is, according to Ferrari, one of the most balanced high-performance vehicles the Italian automaker has ever built for the road. This precision is no coincidence, but a philosophy. This is exactly where the KW V5 coilover suspension comes in: as a technological extension of this philosophy, developed for everyone who wants to consistently unleash the full potential of the Ferrari F12’s suspension on the road.
The factory suspension
Ferrari has equipped the F12 Berlinetta with a suspension system that meets the vehicle’s high standards in many respects. The magnetorheological dampers adjust compression and rebound in milliseconds and allow for a noticeable adjustment of the damping characteristics via the driving mode selector (Sport to Race). The standard steering is among the most direct in its class. The body remains remarkably calm and predictable even at high speeds. The F12 Berlinetta performs impressively both on public roads and on the racetrack. The weight distribution and body rigidity keep the vehicle under control even in challenging situations.
KW V5 with Hydraulic Lift System
Anyone who lowers a Ferrari F12 will sooner or later face the same challenge: steep garage ramps, multi-storey car parks, kerbs. That is exactly what the KW V5 with HLS 2 was designed for: the combination of the full performance capability of the KW V5 and the Hydraulic Lift System (HLS) of the latest generation. At the press of a button, the HLS Evolution pump raises the front axle of the Ferrari F12 by up to 30 millimetres within just 4 to 5 seconds. JP Performance, himself a F12 owner, summed it up perfectly: the new HLS Evolution pump is significantly more compact than its predecessor and operates so quietly that it is barely perceptible from inside the cabin.

Customized lowering
This coilover suspension offers maximum possible lowering, customized to your vehicle model. You can also change this at any time after installation.
Adjustable rebound (low speed)
You'll notice the difference with every click! Here, you can adjust the low-speed rebound with 16 clicks. This adjusts the ride characteristics, making them either harder or more comfortable.
Adjustable rebound (high speed)
You'll feel the difference with every click! Here you can adjust the rebound (high speed) with a total of 13 clicks. This makes the riding characteristics either harder or more comfortable.
Adjustable compression damping (low speed)
You can fine-tune the low-speed compression damping even after installation. The vehicle's handling and stability will benefit from 12 clicks.
Adjustable compression damping (Highspeed)
You can fine-tune the high-speed compression damping even after installation. Up to 15 clicks allow you to adjust vehicle handling and stability.
Additional technologies
Does the KW V5 coilover suspension fit all versions of the Ferrari F12?
The KW V5 coilover suspension was developed specifically for the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta (Type F152) with an F1 manual transmission and without the standard lift system. It is not compatible with the Ferrari F12 tdf. The KW V5 directly utilizes the F12 Berlinetta’s stock strut bearings, ensuring a clean and technically flawless installation without compromising the original vehicle. For all other variants, we recommend consulting a KW dealer or our technical support team.
What is the difference between the KW V5 and the KW V5 with HLS?
Both versions are based on the same solid-piston damper technology and deliver identical suspension performance. The difference lies in everyday use: The KW V5 with HLS 2 also features the Hydraulic Lift System, which raises the front axle of the Ferrari F12 by up to 30 millimeters at the push of a button. This function can be activated while driving at speeds up to 80 km/h and raises the vehicle in just 4 to 5 seconds. Those who want a low ride height but don’t want to compromise on everyday practicality should choose the KW V5 with HLS 2.
Is the KW V5 road legal, and does it come with a partial certification?
Yes, the KW V5 coilover suspension for the Ferrari F12 berlinetta is approved for road use and comes supplied with a parts certificate. This document serves as the basis for registration in the vehicle documents in accordance with applicable regulations. All KW coilover systems are calibrated on the in-house 7-post rig and tested under real driving conditions. The factory setup leaves the headquarters already vehicle-specifically tuned and is immediately ready for use.
How does the KW V5 differ from the standard Ferrari F12 suspension?
The standard suspension of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is an impressive feat of engineering, but the KW V5 significantly expands its capabilities. With 4-way adjustable damping (rebound and compression, each with low- and high-speed settings), the setup can be precisely tailored to driving style and operating conditions. Solid Piston technology ensures more direct response and lower hysteresis than conventional damper systems. In addition, our coilover suspension allows for individual lowering. Due to its design, the stock suspension does not offer this capability.
