Street-approved beast with KW coilover kit: The Lamborghini Aventador and KW V5 coilovers
It is countable on one hand how many road-legal vehicles manage to set a lap record on the Nordschleife. One of them was the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ which passed the Green Hell within 6:44.97 minutes. The Italian manufacturer Lamborghini sold a total of 900 cars. The Lamborghini Aventador (type 834) has all-wheel drive and 7-speed automatic. Inside, there is a 6.5-liter V12 mid-engine that pushes the car up to 770 HP. Within the latest Aventador SVJ versions, the engineers relied on performance-optimized, light materials. The aerodynamics concept “ALA 2.0” (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva) was intended to support this aspect and was launched with the Lamborghini Huracan. The aerodynamic concept causes the opening and closing of air channels at the front and rear wing. Depending on the driving behavior, this leads to better traction, more stability and easier steering. Surely, this is one of the reasons why the Lamborghini Aventador managed the temporary best time of 6:44.97 minutes on the Nordschleife. In 2018, the SVJ beated the Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

Driving character of the Superveloce Joty by Aventador
The “SVJ” in the name Aventador SVJ stands for “Superveloce Jota” which is Italian and stands for “supersportscar J”. There, only vehicles with maximum performance unite. Back in the days, there already were Jota-versions of the Lamborghini Miura and Diablo. After its first facelift in 2017, the Aventador SVJ comes with stiffer stabilizers, higher damper rates and a recalibrated, rear-focused AWD.
Even though the newest Aventador facelift is much more track-following, especially in tight corners, the car still tends to understeer slightly. Nevertheless, various braking maneuvers are described as very stable and balanced even at high speeds thanks to carbon ceramic brake discs. The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has coil spring suspensions at the front and rear axle. Therefore, the Aventador can be equipped with KW coilovers in retrospect. Here, we offer our KW V5 coilover kit.
The KW V5 in the supercar
Our KW V5 coilover kit is made of stainless-steel and was specially designed for high-performance sports cars. It provides fast, direct damping for steering movements and road irregularities of any kind. Together with the coilovers, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ can be lowered from 15 to 35 millimeters at the front axle and 5 to 25 millimeters at the rear axle. Moreover, a mechanic adjustment of compression and rebound in highspeed and lowspeed is possible. What makes our V5 coilovers special is the used Solid Piston technology. Here, the damper has a valve assembly separate from the damper inner tube and piston rod.
