Now available for the Mercedes-Benz C126 the KW V3 classic coilover suspension. The KW V3 classic dampers are adjustable in in compression and rebound forces. A Mercedes-560 SEC equipped with the modern KW V3 classic suspension rides noticeably more dynamically than with an old OEM suspension, which was over 40 years ago state of the art.

The old Mercedes-Benz coupe (C126) based on the legendary Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W126) features double wishbones at the front axle and enthusiasts of the SEC don’t need to convert their Mercedes to MacPherson struts. That’s also one of the reason the KW scope of delivery features four shocks made of stainless steel, four suspension springs and four height-adjustable spring perches. Better driving dynamics and handling are immediately noticeable after install KW V3 classic coilovers in the Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC (C126).





The KW DDC plug & play coilovers need to be installed only on the front axle of the i4 eDrive40.
The optional BMW M sports suspension with air suspension system stays aboard when retrofitting the KW DDC plug & play coilovers in the BMW i4 eDrive40 Gran Coupé.



Installing the KW V3 classic coilover suspension kit in the Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC (C126) isn’t a major challenge for specialist workshops. The standard dampers and springs on the double wishbone front axle and the semi-trailing arm rear axle (diagonal swing axle) are simply replaced with the KW V3 classic dampers and KW V3 springs. The function of the optional OEM hydropneumatic torque support will be deactivated when retrofitting the KW V3 dampers.

The KW classic suspension for the Mercedes-Benz SEC features the bespoke KW multi-valve damper technology, which improves ride comfort and handling characteristic. Already in the pre-dialed setup of the KW V3 classic shocks, the Mercedes drives as firm as necessary and as comfortable as possible. Via the adjustable compression and rebound valves, the handling as well as the ride comfort can be chosen to the personal needs in just a few steps; in case the Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC is equipped with a different wheel/tire combination.



When retrofitting a car with DDC coilovers it can be lowered from 20 to 40 millimeters at the front axle and 15 to 35 millimeters at the rear axle.



The height adjustment happens directly at the spring perches and not at the struts, because the Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC doesn’t feature a MacPherson axle geometry. The approved lowering range on the front axle between 30 to 55 millimeters and 20 to 45 millimeters at the rear axle.
