Volkswagen MK8 GTI coilovers: Lowering and dynamic damping in your GTI & GTI Clubsport
With handling upgrades from KW suspensions, the Golf 8 GTI and the Golf 8 GTI Clubsport (shown on the pictures) can be continuously lowered. On top of that, depending on the product variant, the damper setup can be individually adjusted in compression and/or rebound. For the Golf 8 GTI Clubsport, we even offer KW Clubsport suspensions from our Track Performance product line.
The factory suspension
VW models are developed with highly innovative driving dynamics. A new VW Golf 8 GTI or a GTI Clubsport has precise and dynamic driving characteristics with modern technology ex works. Selected models come with VW's own DCC adaptive chassis control. This allows a choice between comfortable and sporty driving. Regardless of this, traction can quickly be lost if the accelerator pedal is pressed too hard.
Our KW product
The KW V1 is for daily drivers and offers a fixed damper characteristic curve. This Golf GTI suspension is tuned for performance and driving pleasure from the moment of delivery. Compared to the standard suspension, it ensures direct handling and a fuller driving experience. The driving comfort in daily use is not neglected. Additionally, you benefit from continuous lowering, which can be adjusted at any time and to your exact requirements.

Customized lowering
This coilover suspension offers maximum possible lowering, customized to your vehicle model. You can also change this at any time after installation.
Adjustable compression damping (low speed)
You can fine-tune the low-speed compression damping even after installation. The vehicle's handling and stability will benefit from 12 clicks.
Adjustable compression damping (Highspeed)
You can fine-tune the high-speed compression damping even after installation. Up to 15 clicks allow you to adjust vehicle handling and stability.
Adjustable rebound (low speed)
You'll notice the difference with every click! Here, you can adjust the low-speed rebound with 16 clicks. This adjusts the ride characteristics, making them either harder or more comfortable.
Aluminium Uniball top mounts
Depending on the vehicle type, the aluminium Uniball top mounts offer scalable camber settings and optional caster adjustment. This enables the camber angle to be adjusted to maximize tyre contact area when cornering, providing even more direct handling.

Your questions about the Mk8 GTI & GTI Clubsport coilover kits
Can I lower the VW Golf 8 GTI?
The range of lowering depends on which product the driver chooses. If it is a Golf GTI suspension from our Street Performance line, the car allows a lowering of 20 to 45 millimeters per axle. The same applies to the KW DDC. Those who prefer a KW V3 Clubsport or V4 Clubsport in their Golf 8 GTI can rely on a lowering range of 25 to 40 millimeters.
Can I retrofit DCC in the Golf 8?
Yes, you can upgrade the Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) in your GTI with our KW DDC Plug & Play system. The KW adaptive dampers are controlled via the VW onboard electronics. We recommend that our products are always installed by certified KW automotive dealers.
