What is the difference between a KW suspensions V1 and V2?
The KW V1 combines vehicle-specific, factory-preset damping with individually adjustable lowering. The KW V2 offers the same lowering capabilities but adds adjustable low-speed compression damping for custom fine-tuning. Choose the V1 if you want a sporty look and prefer to rely on our pre-engineered setup, which is custom-tailored to your specific vehicle right out of the box.
When is the KW V1 the ideal choice?
The KW V1 coilover suspension is perfect for drivers who want custom, continuous ride-height lowering but prefer to leave the optimal damper setup to our engineers. Instead of spending time on fine-tuning, you benefit from a perfectly balanced driving experience straight out of the box. Like all our suspension systems, the KW V1 is crafted from premium, corrosion-resistant “inox-line” stainless steel and has been rigorously refined on our in-house vehicle dynamics test rig. A technical component certificate is, of course, included.
What is a KW Variant 1?
The terms „Variant 1“ and „V1“ refer to the exact same product. A few years ago, we streamlined our product nomenclature, shortening the original name „Variant“ to simply „V“ for a cleaner, more modern designation. If you encounter the name „Variant 1“ in older reviews or forums, it is identical to the current KW V1 coilover suspension featured on our website. While the name has evolved to be more concise, our commitment to uncompromising engineering, premium materials, and driving dynamics remains entirely unchanged.
Does a pre-set damping setup really work for every vehicle?
Yes, because our setup is not generic. While the KW V1 hardware is uniform, the damping configuration inside is unique to your specific car model. When developing a V1 application, our engineers account for your vehicle’s exact weight distribution, axle loads, power output, and chassis design.
