The factory suspension
The standard coilovers for the Mk7 are clearly designed for everyday practicality and travel comfort. The standard chassis setup is safe and predictable, making it ideal for many drivers. However, those who drive their car more actively or want to determine the balance between comfort and performance individually will reach their limits. This is particularly true when cornering dynamically or lowering the car for a sportier look.

This coilover suspension offers maximum possible lowering, customised to your vehicle model. You can also change this at any time after installation.
Adjustable compression damping (low speed)
You can fine-tune the low-speed compression damping even after installation. The vehicle's handling and stability will benefit from 12 clicks.
Adjustable compression damping (Highspeed)
You can fine-tune the high-speed compression damping even after installation. Up to 15 clicks allow you to adjust vehicle handling and stability.
Adjustable rebound (low speed)
You'll notice the difference with every click! Here, you can adjust the low-speed rebound with 16 clicks. This adjusts the ride characteristics, making them either harder or more comfortable.
Aluminium Uniball top mounts
Depending on the vehicle type, the aluminium Uniball top mounts offer scalable camber settings and optional caster adjustment. This enables the camber angle to be adjusted to maximise tyre contact area when cornering, providing even more direct handling.

How much can I lower my Golf 7?
Depending on the model, a KW coilover suspension can lower the front and rear axles by up to 65 mm. The exact range depends on the model. It's important to have the axles professionally aligned after installation to get the best control of driving stability and tyre wear. We recommend having it installed by one of our KW automotive dealers.
Are coilover suspensions suitable for everyday use?
Yes. Modern KW coilover suspensions are tuned to combine sporty performance with high everyday usability. Especially variants from the Street Comfort product line, such as the V2 Comfort or V3 Leveling, allow for individual adjustment between comfort-oriented and firm characteristics, ideal for commuters with sporty demands.
Does a coilover suspension significantly affect comfort?
A sportier setup (as is the case with a coilover suspension) reduces body movement and increases feedback. Subjectively, the vehicle feels tighter, but not uncomfortable. This is especially true with precisely tuned systems, such as those from KW suspensions. The quality of the damper tuning is crucial.
What is the difference between height-adjustable springs and a coilover suspension?
Our height-adjustable springs replace the standard springs in your VW Golf 7 (AU) and lower the vehicle continuously. The vehicle retains its standard shock absorbers. A coilover suspension, on the other hand, combines new springs and dampers in a complete package and ensures harmoniously coordinated damping combined with infinitely variable lowering. Here you get the "all-round carefree package," so to speak.
