Adjusting the suspension setup: KW V5 Racing
Separate low and high-speed rebound and compression valves are available for perfect adjustment of the damper setup. The short-stroke valve reacts precisely and quickly for maximum feedback and performance. Thanks to numerous customisation options, an individual characteristic curve design is possible in a force range from 1,000 N to 10,000 N.
Solid piston displacement principle
The KW V5 Racing damper enables a direct response of the vehicle with minimal hysteresis thanks to the built-in solid piston displacement principle. If required, the modular damper can also be extended with an adjustable blow-off valve.
V5 Racing technology in detail
The compression damping is adjustable with 18 clicks in low speed and 18 clicks in high speed. The compression stage is already ideally set on delivery.
The blow-off characteristic ensures optimum support for the vehicle body and guarantees a constant connection to the road.
The high-speed rebound stage influences how quickly the suspension spring relaxes back to its initial position.
Depending on the vehicle type, aluminium Unibal support bearings have a scalable camber adjustment and are optionally adjustable in caster.

KW V5 Racing FSAE EVO
The KW V5 Racing FSAE EVO is a 4-way adjustable high-performance damper with 19 clicks each in low/high speed and bump/rebound. The solid-piston displacement piston reduces hysteresis and increases damping precision. The additively manufactured housing eliminates two sealing points and the inner tube, which reduces friction and weight. The click adjustment on the housing also allows reproducible definition of the spring preload.

Value and quality
The KW V5 Racing is a high-performance damper with 4-way adjustment based on the displacement piston principle. For McPherson applications as an upsidedown version, a 40 mm cartridge with plain bearings is available. The advantage over other systems is the even lower gas pressure and the associated low gas extension force of the pistons. With the positive displacement principle, maximum precision is guaranteed by a greater oil flow through the valves. High damping forces of up to 10,000 N are possible. The housing is made of high-strength aluminium or galvanised steel.
