Adjusting the suspension setup: KW V5 Racing
Separate low and high-speed rebound and compression valves are available for perfect adjustment of the damper setup. The short-stroke valve reacts precisely and quickly for maximum feedback and performance. Thanks to numerous customization options, an individual characteristic curve design is possible in a force range from 1,000 N to 10,000 N.
Solid piston displacement principle
The KW V5 Racing damper delivers direct vehicle response with minimal hysteresis thanks to its built-in solid-piston displacement principle. If required, the modular damper can also be extended with an adjustable blow-off valve.
V5 Racing Technology in detail
The compression damping is adjustable in 18 clicks at low-speed and 18 at high-speed. The compression stage is already ideally set upon delivery.
The blow-off characteristic ensures optimum support for the vehicle body and guarantees a constant connection to the road.
The high-speed rebound stage influences how quickly the suspension spring relaxes back to its initial position.
Depending on the vehicle type, aluminum Unibal support bearings have a scalable camber adjustment and are optionally adjustable in caster.

KW V5 Racing EVO for Formula Student
The KW V5 Racing FSAE EVO is a 4-way adjustable high-performance damper with 19 clicks each in low/high speed and bump/rebound. The solid-piston technology reduces hysteresis and increases damping precision. The additively manufactured housing eliminates two sealing points and the inner tube, which reduces friction and weight. The click adjustment on the housing also allows reproducible definition of the spring preload.

Solid-piston technology minimizes hysteresis, reduces friction, and ensures high-precision, reproducible damping.
4-way adjustable: 19 clicks each in low/high speed as well as bump and rebound for maximum setup flexibility.
Additively manufactured housing without an inner tube - fewer sealing points, less friction, reduced mass.
Defined spring preload adjustable with a click directly on the housing - precise, fast, and reproducible.
Value and quality
The KW V5 racing shock absorber is a high-performance, four-way-adjustable shock absorber. The McPherson application is a reverse version with a 40mm cartridge and plain bearings. The advantage is even lower throttle pressure and the associated low piston rod pull-out force. With this displacement principle, maximum accuracy is achieved as more oil flows through the valves than with conventional systems. It is possible to achieve high damping forces of up to 10,000 N. The housing is made of high-strength aluminum or galvanized steel.
